10pm, 31st May 2009 New Boost Web Site
As part of the effort to more thoroughly document the powerful features of Boost, we have created a new web site called Boostalicious. It contains information and examples that make Boost a whole lot easier to use. Check it out. It is now the "go to" place for Boost info.
Several Leapstreamers are getting together to create a Boost User Guide that will supplement the extensive Demo Tests available now in the Boost source code. Topics we are covering include:
You can check out the Demo Tests and start using Boost now, or you can wait for the User Guide. Should take us a few weeks.
9am, 28 Apr 2009 Donkey Uses Boost
A project over at Suncorp that some Leapstreamers are involved with has gone open source. The Donkey is a simple data migration and integration framework. It uses Boost Spider and Sniper extensively. Nice.
After many delays due to commercial commitments, Boost will be officially released with a new site, mailing lists and documentation this month. Many awesome moves have been made over the past few months including:
- Automated 'Edging' of external libraries behind interfaces.
- Automated implementations of Interfaces for data objects.
- IOC engine rewrite to allow composable/nestable containers.
- Lots more!
Stay tuned for further details.
Our very own Damien Bastin has written a white paper about how his team has successfully applied Agile techniques on a large-scale integration project. Professor Zoom's paper covers issues such as:
- Task prioritisation.
- Managing large numbers of test and development environments.
- Utilising customer domain experts effectively.
- Interface and Data migration techniques.
